1 – Overall aim of course
Upon completion of this course, the diploma students should
• have good knowledge of the immune system, the clinical features of some
autoimmune diseases.
• have detailed explanation of the immunostimulants and the immunosuppressants.
Hypersensitivity reactions and transplantation are also highlighted
2 – Intended learning outcomes of course (ILOs)
a. Knowledge and understanding:
The student should be able to:
a1- Explain the clinical presentations of some autoimmune diseases
a2- Explain the clinical management of systemic lupus erythematosus and
thrombocytopenia.
a3- Demonstrate and illustrate different mechanisms of immune deficiency
