TENTATIVE OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE:
Monday – No school
Tuesday – Students will learn the basis of the periodic table of the elements, how it originated and how they are arranged.
Wednesday - Students will learn what the 50 most common elements of the periodic table and their symbols.
–Students will review the 50 most common elements and corresponding symbols.
Thursday – Students will review the 50 most common elements and corresponding symbols
Friday – Students will be engaged in playing a game with a partner in reviewing the 50 designated periodic elements.
INSTRUCTION TENTATIVE LESSON ACTIVITIES:
Monday – No school
Tuesday –– Students will be introduced to the periodic table in how it is arranged, what elements are and how they relate to atoms.
Wednesday - Students will be given a list of the 50 most common elements on the periodic table and begin to make flash cards to help
prepare for the 25 point multiple choice quiz on Friday.
Thursday – Students will finish their flashcards in class and review element symbols with a partner.
Friday – Students will play a review game in class to prepare for their 25 point multiple choice quiz Friday. Bonus points can be earned if
students win their individual matches against other classmates.
NOTES/REMINDERS: WEEKLY ASSESSMENTS:
Flashcards needed to be finished by Thursday *completion of the 50 element flash cards
