From Opportunity Gap to Lifelong Opportunity

Now, through an exclusive partnership, Beable and the World of Work have come together as one to integrate
career exposure and development in the classroom from early grades onward – without compromising literacy or
academic content mastery. For the first time, Beable World of Work intertwines career development with literacy
acceleration and core content mastery. The ability to do all of this, all at the same time, is only possible due to

Beable’s multi-dimensional approach and BeableIQ engine.
Beable World of Work promotes a new mindset and language to students, teachers and parents based on Dr. John
Holland’s widely researched RIASEC model. It establishes the concept of student strengths, interests and work values, as
well as self-awareness and connection to careers that fit unique strengths and values. In doing so, it instills excitement
in students about the opportunities that lie ahead, making education more real and relevant in the process.
For Students:
RIASEC Identifying strengths, interests and work-related
Career Indicator values: When students take their initial Beable
Lexile Placement Test, they also take a RIASEC
Career Indicator survey based on the Holland
Occupational Themes. The survey generates their
3-letter RIASEC code that result in a personalized
path to careers of interest.
Exploring careers of interest: Students’ explore
Personalized Career careers recommended by the BeableIQ engine
Exploration based on their RIASEC codes. They can also more
broadly explore careers – and see how current
Lexile levels compare to the requirements of
selected careers.
Providing independent, Lexile-level differentiated
reading lessons: Lessons on careers and soft skills
are differentiated to 10 reading levels in English
Lexile-Differentiated and Spanish, allowing students to simultaneously
Independent Reading learn more about careers, develop employability
skills and further improve their literacy skills.
Beable WoW bring students, teachers, parents and communities together to nurture
happy kids, living in healthy relationships, on the path to gainful employment.

Providing personalized PD and an extensive career curriculum: Through
personalized professional development, educators’ eagerness to adopt
career development in their classrooms grows. Extensive resources and
teacher-led activities developed with the support of the University of San
Diego make careers real and relevant for kids.

Comprehensive Learner Records: Perpetual learner records accessible by
student, teacher and parents/guardians are at the core of Beable World of
Work. Students’ accomplishments, activities and achievements, large and
small, are chronicled here. Learner Records are where students, teachers
and parents connect and progress together on the path to gainful
employment.
After just two years using the WoW program, 95% of middle school students
Demonstrated developed specific awareness of their ‘hoped for’ selves (future occupations).
Efficacy In the same timeframe, 80% of teachers developed a moderate-to-high comfort
level implementing WoW.
