Develop Human Resource Plan
Creating a staff management plan that identifies and documents the reporting
relationships as well as each team member’s role, responsibility, and required skills
Acquire Project Team
Confirms that specific human resources will be available to work on the project
Develop Project Team
The processes to improve the competencies of the project team, their interactions, and
the overall team environment
Manage the Project Team
The tracking of the project team’s performance, providing feedback, resolving
interpersonal issues, and managing organizational change
We will discuss about:
- Formal and Informal Organization
- Roles of Project Manager
- Real Teams vs Work Groups
- Learning Cycles
- Project Environment
FORMAL ORGANIZATION
- Formal groupings and specializations of activities
- Organization structure determine:
o How resources are allocated
o Who has authority over those resource
o Who is really in charge of the project
Functional Organization
- Traditional organizational form
- Based upon organizing resources to perform specialized tasks or activities
- Individuals and subunits perform similar functions and have similar area of expertise
- Projects are housed within a particular function ( eg. Manufacturing project resides in the
manufacturing function)
- Project may cross functional boundaries.
