Proposal for extension of Chancel Step
The only way to get a finished nosing on the front step would be to work in to the
front rail, the actual pews wouldn’t need to come out, just the rails.
The idea of lifting the floor yet higher and around the choir stalls would cost in my
view would be in excess of 3 time my latest quote and would definitely require an
architect to design and spec up these alterations before any further quotes.
Andrew Gardner
Cost
£4,736.16
Rationale:
The purpose of this chancel extension
is create raised platform that would
enable presentations to be visible to
the whole congregation. This applies
to:
i) school presentations: it would make
the locating of the summer pantomime
a possibility which is attracts a large
number from the village
ii) concert and choir programme.
It is proposed that a tiered Unistage
System is purchased for stage choirs –
there is grant fund available.
Without the removal of the front two pews it would not be possible to create the
desired access for wheelchair users. However, with the raised platform, there will be
greater visibility for all.
(Overall Total £18,986.16)
Proposal for outside store:
It has been suggested a pre-fab concrete structure could be assembled on a
concrete base and screened off with fence panels. It would be a cheaper option
and also resistant to break in. Guide Price: £
