Why Personal Advisors?
You are making a transition:
into a new institution
very possibly into a new way of teaching and assessment
very possibly into a new system
The function of the Personal Development
Advisor and of Staff Development is to help
you make this transition as smoothly as
possible:
for your sake
and for the sake of the students
The role of Personal Advisors
The Role of the Personal Development Advisor is:
To support new staff to adapt to the BUE approach to
teaching, learning and assessment as well as our
systems and regulations
To act as a source of information
To support new staff to complete their 3 month
probation period including a peer observation of
teaching
To act as a source of support, and to help identify and
address any development needs in the first 8 months
Requirements of the scheme
