               Learning 
  A Unit of Instruction is a detailed roadmap of how you will teach toward your 
  prioritized standards and engage students in their learning. 
  A lesson plan looks at what is in the Unit of Instruction, creates “I can 
  statements” based on the learning goals for that day, and describes how the 
  classroom experience will unfold. Lesson plans usually cover one or more 
  days.   
  Every week the teacher and their PLC should review student learning and 
  problem solve how to keep their students on track for what should have 
  been learned. 
   Design Units of Instruction

  After Prioritizing your standards, unpacking their meaning, scaffolding the 
  learning, and writing assessments for the standards, you are ready to work on 
  designing a Unit of Instruction.  Large blocks of time are best to give your 
  team time to organize units for a few weeks, month, or the quarter.  Try to 
  schedule this time throughout the school year or each quarter.
  Get ready in the following three modules to create a Unit of Instruction using 
  a nine step planning process. This process should allow you to answer the 
  question, “How will we proactively respond to the needs of our students?”
