                    RSMeanshasupdateditsdatabasesforthe2013release.IfyouuseRSMeansdatabaseitemsinyour
                    estimates, readthis guidetoreview thechanges andtheinstructions forupdatingthefollowingaffected
                    databases:
                    n  MeansDatabases
                    n  ConstructionKnowledgebase
                    n  Residential Knowledgebase
                    NewinThisRelease
                    RSMeansdatabaseshavebeenupdatedwithcurrentpricinginformation.
                    MasterFormat 2012 Format
                    RSMeanshasadoptedtheConstructionSpecificationsInstitute(CSI)MasterFormat2012(MF12)data
                    structureforall of theirdatabases. Previously, RSMeans databases usedtheMasterFormat 2004(MF04)
                    ortheMasterFormat1995(MF95)datastructure.
                          IMPORTANT:
                    n  If youarealready usingRSMeans databases intheMF04format, youdonotneedtoupgradeyour
                       databases totheMF12format.
                    n  YoumustupgradetoSageEstimatingproductsversion9.8orlaterbeforeyouinstallthe2013Means
                       Integrator.
                    Overview
                    TheRSMeansdatabasescorrespondtotheRSMeansCostDatabooksyoureceivewithyourshipment.
                    WithSageEstimatingMeansIntegrator,youcancreateasingledatabaseorcombinemultipledatabases
                    intoonecompositedatabase.Alternatively, youcanupdatethepricingonanexistingRSMeansdatabase
                    withcurrent RSMeanspricing.
                    1 Install Estimating9.8orlater.
                    2 Insert the2013MeansIntegratorinstallationCD intotheCD driveof theworkstationorserverwhere
                       SageEstimating9.8or12.1isinstalled.

                    a Select toinstall theMeans IntegratorapplicationforSageTimberlineOffice9.8or12.1.
                    b Click [Browse] andbrowsetotheserverorworkstationwhereyouwanttostoreyourRSMeans
                       databases.
                    c Select thecheck box next toeachRSMeansdatabaseyouwanttoinstallthenclick[Install].
                  3 Start the2013MeansIntegratorby clickingthefollowing:
                     p For Sage Estimating 9.8:Start > AllPrograms > SageSoftware>SageTimberlineOffice>
                       Estimating>MeansIntegrator.
                     p For Sage Estimating 12.1:Start > AllPrograms > Sage> Sage300ConstructionandRealEstate
                       > Estimating> Means Integrator.
                  4 Follow thesteps throughtheMeans Integratorwizard.
                  2013 Means Integrator Workflows
                  Integratingyour2013RSMeansdataisafivestepprocess.
                  Step One: Prepare Database
                  IntheMeansIntegratorwizardPrepare Databasewindow,youcanselectwhethertotransferdataor
                  updatedata. Thefollowinginformationdescribes theseoptions.
                  Transfer Data
                  Select Transfer Dataif youareready totransferRSMeans 2013datatoanew databaseortoanexisting
                  databasewithwhichyouhavealreadybeenworking.
                  n  Transfer Data—New Database
                     Select this optiontocreateanew Estimatingdatabaseandpopulateit withallof theRSMeans 2013
                     items intheMF12format.
                  n  Transfer Data—Existing Means MF12 Database
                     If youselect totransfertoanexistingMF12database, theIntegratorwilltransferany new RSMeans
                     2013itemstoyourdatabase.
                  n  Transfer Data—Non-MeansDatabase
                     If youselect tointegratewithanon-RSMeans database, theIntegratorwilltransfertheRSMeans 2013
                     items toyourexistingdatabase. Theresultingdatabasewillcontainbothyourexistingphases anditems
                     andtheRSMeansphasesanditems.
                       NOTE: AddingRSMeans2013phasesanditemscouldcauseyourphasesorttoappeardifferently
                       inEstimating.
                  If youaretransferringRSMeans datatoanew database, alsoselect acompany toassociatewiththedata
                  thenspecify thelengthof thenormalwork periods, theJobCost programyouwant toassociatewiththe
                  database(if desired), andthedefault crew pricingmethod.
