                                                                During the 20th century, changing  
                                                                tastes in fashion emphasised  
                                                                different parts of the female  
                                                                body. The silhouette looked  
                                                                different in different decades.  
                                                                Fashion in the 1950s was tailored  
                                                                to an hourglass silhouette, with  
                                                                tiny waists and exaggerated hips  
                                                                and busts. Models were often  
                                                                photographed in highly stylised  
                                                                poses. 
                                                                 
                                                                Use this 1950s croquis as a
