Introduction
• During the Covid-19 pandemic, student learning activities were carried out from
home and carried out online.
• In theory, even though it is distance learning, scientific learning can still be
done. This is what we want to know in this study, whether this assumption is
significantly proven.
• Another thing that you want to know is how the teacher's efforts in managing
the classroom using an online scientific approach; (1) whether geography
learning with a scientific method can be implemented optimally; (3) the learning
model from the scientific way that teachers can do in online learning; and (3)
what are the obstacles faced by teachers and students in online education.
• The three questions above are essential to ask as part of monitoring
the effectiveness of learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. Research
data can be used in making decisions for improvement.
• The research results can be used as material for reflection and
observing teacher behavior in the learning process. Before the Covid-
19 pandemic, not all geography teachers could correctly carry out
scientific learning due to the various limitations of schools' facilities
and infrastructure. During the pandemic period, it will undoubtedly
further hinder the implementation of learning with a scientific
approach
• When referring to theory, perfect scientific learning is to go through five steps:
observing, questioning, searching for data, associating, and presenting. In the
five stages are carried out if learning online? If it has not been implemented,
which steps are challenging to implement.
• The research proposes a hypothesis; If the teacher can carry out scientific
learning online, they have good skills in managing the class, are skilled in utilizing
technology and networks (internet), use online video applications, explore and
organize teaching materials, and can serve students during learning.
• Conversely, if teachers cannot carry out scientific learning, they can be sure they
will use the lecture and assignment method
Methods
• The study used a survey method with an instrument in the form of a
questionnaire filled out by participants via a google form.
• Participants were geography teachers with a total of 168 people, 42%
male and 57% female.
• The data is processed quantitatively with a graphic display.
• Faithful Data are analyzed and interpreted to draw conclusions.
